After You Graduate

Graduation is a time of transition and can be overwhelming for students especially if there are no transition plans in place. As an international student, chances are, one of the most persistent worries is the prospect of getting a job after graduation. Regardless of whether you intend to return to your home country or remain in Canada to pursue a career and become a permanent Canadian resident, finding a job after graduation and getting settled requires proper planning. 

Be Prepared:

Do not wait for graduation to start planning your transition. At the start of your final year of studies, you should start planning to apply for the Post-Graduation Work Permit if you plan to remain in Canada. You should also inquiry employment and volunteer opportunities. If you’re planning to remain in Canada, you should review all the pathways to permanent residency at least one year before graduation.
